Lee McDonald (born Cleveland Parker) started singing at the age of 13 in his church choir, in school Talent shows and on street corners. He always admired singers such as Smokey Robinson, and the Four Tops, but his main influence was Cuba Gooding, the lead singer from R&B group Main Ingredient.
